The Sun Hydraulics RVGD8DV (Material Number: RVGD8DV) is a sophisticated, normally closed modulating element designed for precise pressure regulation in hydraulic systems. This valve features an integral pilot control cavity, which is ventable, externally drained, and utilizes a balanced piston design to ensure optimal performance. It is compatible with any T8A pressure control cartridge, allowing flexibility in controlling the pressure differential between the inlet port 1 and the drain port 4. The valve begins to open to tank port 2 when the inlet pressure reaches the pilot cartridge setting, regulating flow to maintain desired pressure levels. Additionally, a vent port (port 3) offers remote pilot or two-way valve control over the modulating element. Capable of handling maximum pressures at port 2, this valve is suitable for cross-port relief circuits but not recommended for load-holding applications due to spool leakage. The main stage orifice is safeguarded by a 150-micron stainless steel screen for durability and reliability. Pressure at port 4 can be directly added to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio but should not exceed 5000 psi (350 bar). The RVGD8DV incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal part binding due to installation torque or machining variations. The installation requires careful torque management of both the main stage and T8A pilot control valves for optimal operation.

This valve is a normally closed modulating element that incorporates an integral pilot control cavity. It is ventable, externally drained, and is a balanced piston design. The pilot control cavity will accept any T-8A pressure control cartridge. When the pressure at the inlet (port 1) reaches the pilot control cartridge setting, the modulating element starts to open to tank (port 2), throttling flow to regulate the pressure. The pilot cartridge's setting determines the difference in pressure between the inlet (port 1) and the drain (port 4). The vent port (port 3) that tees in between the main piston and pilot control cartridge, allows the modulating element to also be controlled by remote pilot or 2-way valves.
