The Sun Hydraulics RVIACNV (RVIACNV) is a ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed for precise pressure regulation in hydraulic systems. This valve remains normally closed until the inlet pressure reaches a pre-set level, at which point it opens to the tank port, throttling flow to maintain the desired pressure. It features a vent port that allows for remote control via other pilot or two-way valves. The RVIACNV is known for its accuracy, low pressure rise versus flow characteristics, smooth and quiet operation, and moderate response speed. It is capable of handling maximum pressure at port 2 and can be used in cross-port relief circuits, though spool leakage should be considered in such applications. The valve includes a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen and requires that the relief valve setting always exceeds the pilot valve setting. It is not suitable for load-holding applications due to potential spool leakage. Cartridges with EPDM seals are intended for use with phosphate ester fluids only; exposure to petroleum-based fluids can damage these seals. The Sun floating style construction minimizes internal binding risks from excessive installation torque or machining variations. This cartridge fits into a T-19A cavity and has a capacity of 120 gpm (480 L/min). It operates at a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) with control pilot flow ranging from 15 to 20 in\u00b3/min (0.25 to 0.33 L/min). Typical response time is around 10 ms, with maximum valve leakage at specified conditions being 5 in\u00b3/min (80 cc/min). The adjustment mechanism allows up to five full clockwise turns to increase the setting, with specific torque values provided for installation and adjustment components.

Ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridges are normally closed pressure regulating valves. When the pressure at the inlet (port 1) reaches the valve setting, the valve starts to open to tank (port 2), throttling flow to regulate the pressure. They provide a vent port (port 3) that connects between the main piston and pilot stage to provide for remote control by other pilot or 2-way valves. These valves are accurate, have low pressure rise vs. flow, they are smooth and quiet, and are moderately fast.
- A remote pilot relief on port 3 (vent) will control the valve below its own setting.
- Will accept maximum pressure at port 2; suitable for use in cross port relief circuits. If used in cross port relief circuits, consider spool leakage.
- Main stage orifice is protected by a 150 micron stainless steel screen.
- Relief valve setting must always be higher than pilot valve setting.
- Not suitable for use in load holding applications due to spool leakage.
- Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
