The Sun Hydraulics RVIDLAV (RVIDLAV) is a ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge with an external drain, designed as a normally closed pressure regulating valve. This cartridge valve opens to the tank port when the inlet port pressure reaches the preset level, effectively throttling flow to maintain desired pressure levels. It features a vent port for remote control and a drain port that ensures insensitivity to back pressure. With a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi and a capacity of 120 gpm, this model is suitable for cross-port relief circuits but should not be used in load-holding applications due to potential spool leakage. The main stage orifice is safeguarded by a 150-micron stainless steel screen. The valve's construction minimizes internal binding risks during installation. Notably, cartridges with EPDM seals are compatible with phosphate ester fluids but may be damaged by petroleum-based substances. Ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridges with external drain are normally closed pressure regulating valves. When the pressure at the inlet (port 1) reaches the valve setting, the valve starts to open to tank (port 2), throttling flow to regulate the pressure. They provide a vent port (port 3) that connects between the main piston and pilot stage to provide for remote control by other pilot or 2-way valves and a drain (port 4) that makes them insensitive to back pressure. These valves are accurate, have low pressure rise vs. flow, they are smooth and quiet, and are moderately fast.
