The Sun Hydraulics SCCBCEN (SCCBCEN) is an atmospherically referenced, direct-acting sequence valve with a reverse-flow check feature. It is designed to supply a secondary circuit with flow once the inlet port pressure surpasses the valve's setting. This model includes an integral check valve that enables reverse flow from port 2 sequence to port 1 inlet. The pressure setting controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the atmospheric vent, making it suitable for load-holding applications. Notably, atmospherically referenced valves like this one should only be used where a drain connection is not feasible, as they may leak externally or allow moisture into the spring chamber over time. The SCCBCEN valve incorporates Sun's floating style construction, which helps prevent internal parts from binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. It has a capacity of 15 gpm (60 L/min) and can operate at a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The typical response time is approximately 2 ms, and it allows for maximum valve leakage at reseat of up to 10 drops/min (0.7 cc/min). The check cracking pressure is set at 40 psi (2.8 bar), and the adjustment requires up to five clockwise turns to increase the setting. For installation, the valve hex size is 7/8 inch (22.2 mm), with an installation torque range of 30 - 35 lbf ft (41 - 47 Nm). The adjustment screw internal hex size is 5/32 inch (4 mm), while the locknut hex size is 9/16 inch (15 mm) with a locknut torque specification of 80 - 90 lbf in (9 - 10 Nm). The model weighs approximately .30 lb (.15 kg) and uses Viton seal kits for optimal performance.

Atmospherically referenced, direct-acting sequence valves with reverse-flow check will supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at the inlet (port 1) has exceeded the valve setting. Additionally, these valves incorporate an integral check valve to provide reverse flow from port 2 (sequence) to port 1 (inlet). The pressure setting of this sequence valve controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the atmospheric vent.

  • Suitable for use in load holding applications.
  • Atmospherically referenced valves should only be used where it is impossible have a drain connection. Over time, the atmospherically referenced valves may leak externally or allow moisture into the spring chamber.
  • Approximately 1 drop (0,07 cc) of fluid will pass into the vented spring chamber every 4000 cycles.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
