The Sun Hydraulics SCEBLCV (SCEBLCV) is an atmospherically referenced, direct-acting sequence valve with a reverse flow check feature, designed to supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at the inlet port 1 surpasses the valve setting. This model incorporates an integral check valve to facilitate reverse flow from port 2 to port 1. The pressure setting controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the atmospheric vent, making it suitable for load holding applications. It is essential that atmospherically referenced valves, like this one, are used only where a drain connection is not feasible. Over time, these valves may experience external leakage or moisture ingress into the spring chamber. The design allows approximately one drop (0.07 cc) of fluid into the vented spring chamber every 4000 cycles. The SCEBLCV features Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. It fits into Cavity T-5A and has a capacity of 30 gpm (120 L/min), with factory pressure settings established at 2 in/min (30 cc/min). The maximum operating pressure is rated at 5000 psi (350 bar), with a typical response time of around 2 ms and maximum valve leakage at reseat of 10 drops/min (0.7 cc/min). The check cracking pressure is set at 25 psi (1.7 bar), and adjustments can be made by turning clockwise up to five turns. For installation, the valve requires a hex size of 1-1/8 in (28.6 mm) and should be torqued between 45 - 50 lbf ft (61 - 68 Nm). The adjustment screw has an internal hex size of 5/32 in (4 mm), while the locknut has a hex size of 9/16 in (15 mm) and should be torqued between 80 - 90 lbf in (9 -10 Nm).
