The Sun Hydraulics SDFTLCN (SDFTLCN) is a pilot-operated, anti-shock sequence cartridge valve designed to limit maximum system pressure and control the rate of pressure rise. It operates by opening and then ramping closed at a constant speed, independent of settings and flows. The valve features an adjustable screw that determines the maximum relief setting and minimum threshold setting, with an external drain making it insensitive to pressure at port 2. This design ensures immunity to cavitation-related issues such as noise and manifold erosion. The valve's pilot flow increases as the inlet pressure at port 1 rises above the valve setting relative to the drain pressure at port 3.
