The Sun Hydraulics SQDBOAV (SQDBOAV) is a kickdown sequence valve designed to open fully and maintain an unrestricted flow path from port 1 to port 2 once the pressure at inlet port 1 surpasses the valve setting. The valve remains open as long as the pressure at port 1 exceeds that at port 2. To reset, the pressure at port 1 must drop below the valve setting, and flow from port 1 to port 2 must stop, with pressure at port 2 equaling or exceeding that at port 1. This model is interchangeable with other three-port sequence cartridges of the same frame size, sharing identical flow paths and cavity configurations. It is not suitable for load-holding applications. The main stage orifice features a protective stainless steel screen of 150 microns, and pressure at drain port 3 adds directly to the valve setting in a one-to-one ratio, not exceeding 5000 psi (350 bar). This valve is intended for actuator-side use in hydraulic systems where flow cessation through the valve allows resetting; if used on the pump side, pump flow must halt for resetting. Kick-down sequence valves will kick completely open and remain open once the pressure at the inlet (port 1) exceeds the valve setting, creating an unrestricted flow path from port 1 to port 2 (sequence). The pressure setting at port 1 is relative to the drain (port 3). The valve remains open as long as the pressure at port 1 exceeds the pressure at port 2. To reset the valve, pressure at port 1 must fall below the setting of the valve, flow from port 1 to port 2 must cease, and pressure at port 2 must be equal to or greater than the pressure at port 1.
