The Sun Hydraulics SQFBFAV (SQFBFAV) is a kickdown sequence valve designed for hydraulic systems, offering a reliable solution for managing flow paths. This valve kicks completely open once the inlet port 1 pressure exceeds the valve setting, allowing unrestricted flow from port 1 to port 2. It remains open as long as the inlet pressure surpasses that at port 2. To reset, the pressure at port 1 must drop below the set point, and flow must stop with equal or greater pressure at port 2 compared to port 1. Notably, all three-port sequence cartridges in this series are interchangeable regarding flow path and cavity size. However, these valves are not suitable for load-holding applications. The main stage orifice includes a protective 150-micron stainless steel screen, and pressure at drain port 3 directly adds to the valve setting on a 1:1 basis but should not exceed 5000 psi (350 bar). The valve is intended for actuator-side use since it requires flow cessation for resetting; if used on the pump side, pump flow must be halted for reset.
