The Sun Hydraulics SQFBFEV (SQFBFEV) is a kickdown sequence valve designed to provide an unrestricted flow path from port 1 to port 2 once the pressure at the inlet port 1 surpasses the valve's predetermined setting. This mechanism ensures that the valve remains open as long as the pressure at port 1 exceeds that at port 2. For resetting, the pressure at port 1 must drop below the set threshold, and flow from port 1 to port 2 must stop, with pressure at port 2 being equal to or greater than that at port 1. The SQFBFEV is not suitable for load-holding applications and features a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen. It handles a maximum operating pressure of up to 5000 psi (350 bar) and offers a typical response time of about 25 milliseconds. The valve incorporates Sun's floating style construction, minimizing internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations. Physically and functionally interchangeable with all other three-port sequence cartridges of similar size, it should be installed on the actuator side of systems where flow cessation is necessary for valve reset. In configurations where it is placed on the pump side, pump flow must be halted for resetting purposes. The SQFBFEV has a capacity of handling up to 30 gallons per minute (120 liters per minute) and features adjustable settings via a number of clockwise turns (up to five), with an installation torque ranging between 45-50 lbf-ft (61-68 Nm). Its design includes Viton seals providing reliable performance under various conditions, while its compact build weighs approximately .50 lb (0.25 kg).
