The Sun Hydraulics SQFBKAN (Material Number: SQFBKAN) is a kickdown sequence valve designed to provide an unrestricted flow path when the pressure at inlet port 1 exceeds the valve setting, creating a direct sequence from port 1 to port 2. This valve is uniquely engineered to remain open as long as the pressure at port 1 is greater than that at port 2. It resets only when the pressure at port 1 drops below the valve setting, flow from port 1 to port 2 ceases, and the pressures at ports 1 and 2 equalize. Notably, this valve should not be used in load-holding applications. The main stage orifice is safeguarded by a robust 150-micron stainless steel screen. The SQFBKAN model incorporates Sun's floating style construction, which reduces the risk of internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. It features a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and offers a typical response time of approximately 25 milliseconds. The valve supports a capacity of up to 30 gpm (120 L/min) and has minimal leakage rates. Physically and functionally interchangeable across all three-port sequence cartridges for a given frame size, this model is intended for use on the actuator side of systems where flow must cease for resetting.
