The Sun Hydraulics SQFBMEN (SQFBMEN) is a kickdown sequence valve designed to open fully and remain open once the pressure at inlet port 1 exceeds the valve setting, allowing unrestricted flow from port 1 to port 2. This state persists as long as the inlet pressure surpasses that at port 2. To reset the valve, pressure at port 1 must drop below its setting, flow from port 1 to port 2 must stop, and pressure at port 2 must be equal to or greater than at port 1. Notably, all three-port sequence cartridges are interchangeable both physically and functionally within the same frame size. However, this valve is not suitable for load-holding applications. It features a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen and can handle pressures up to a maximum of 5000 psi (350 bar). The valve's design incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize potential binding of internal parts due to excessive installation torque or machining variations in cavities or cartridges. This model is intended for use on the actuator side of hydraulic systems since flow through the valve must cease for it to reset; if used on the pump side, pump flow must be halted for resetting. The SQFBMEN has a capacity of up to 30 gpm (120 L/min) with factory pressure settings established at the kickdown point. It offers a typical response time of approximately 25 milliseconds and maximum leakage of about 3 cubic inches per minute (50 cc/min) at viscosity levels of 110 SUS (24 cSt).
