The Sun Hydraulics SQFBOAV (SQFBOAV) is a kickdown sequence valve designed to open completely and maintain an unrestricted flow path from port 1 to port 2 once the inlet pressure surpasses the valve's set point. This valve remains open as long as the pressure at port 1 is higher than at port 2, and it requires a drop in pressure below its set point at port 1, cessation of flow from port 1 to port 2, and equal or greater pressure at port 2 compared to port 1 to reset. The SQFBOAV is physically and functionally interchangeable with other three-port sequence cartridges of the same frame size, offering ease of replacement and integration. It features a main stage orifice protected by a durable 150-micron stainless steel screen and should not be used in load-holding applications due to its design. Intended for actuator-side applications, this valve requires flow cessation for resetting; if used on the pump side, pump flow must be halted for reset functionality. The valve operates with maximum pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar) and has a typical response time of 25 milliseconds. It incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal binding risks during installation or due to machining variations. With an adjustable setting mechanism allowing up to five clockwise turns for increasing settings, this model includes precise specifications such as a valve hex size of 1-1/8 inches (28.6 mm) and installation torque requirements between 45-50 lbf ft (61-68 Nm).
