The Sun Hydraulics SQHBKWV (SQHBKWV) is a kickdown sequence valve designed to open completely and maintain an open state once the inlet port 1 pressure surpasses the valve setting, allowing unrestricted flow from port 1 to port 2. The valve remains open as long as the pressure at port 1 exceeds that at port 2 and resets only when the pressure at port 1 drops below the set value, stopping flow from port 1 to port 2, with pressure at port 2 equal to or greater than at port 1. This valve is part of a series where all three-port sequence cartridges are interchangeable within a given frame size, offering consistent flow paths and cavity dimensions. It features a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen and should not be used in load-holding applications. The pressure at drain port 3 directly affects the valve setting in a 1:1 ratio, up to a maximum of 5000 psi (350 bar). It is best suited for actuator-side system applications since flow must cease for resetting, whereas pump-side use requires pump shutdown for reset.
