The Sun Hydraulics SQHBQBN (SQHBQBN) is a kickdown sequence valve designed to open completely and maintain an unrestricted flow path from port 1 to port 2 once the pressure at the inlet port 1 exceeds the valve setting. This mechanism is relative to the drain port 3, and the valve remains open as long as the pressure at port 1 surpasses that at port 2. To reset, pressure at port 1 must drop below the valve setting, and flow from port 1 to port 2 must stop with equal or greater pressure at port 2 compared to port 1. The sequence cartridges are interchangeable in terms of flow path and cavity for a given frame size, though they are not recommended for load holding applications.
