The Sun Hydraulics SQHBQCV (SQHBQCV) is a kickdown sequence valve designed to provide an unrestricted flow path from port 1 to port 2 once the inlet pressure at port 1 exceeds the valve setting. This valve is particularly useful in applications where a sequence of operations is required, as it remains open as long as the pressure at port 1 surpasses that at port 2. To reset, the pressure at port 1 must drop below the set threshold, and flow must cease with equal or greater pressure at port 2 compared to port 1. The SQHBQCV features a floating style construction that minimizes internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations. It is not recommended for load-holding applications and should be used on the actuator side of systems to ensure proper resetting. The main stage orifice is safeguarded with a 150-micron stainless steel screen, and pressure at port 3 directly influences the valve setting in a 1:1 ratio without exceeding 5000 psi (350 bar). With a capacity of up to 60 gpm (240 L/min) and maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), this valve offers rapid response times typically around 25 ms. It includes adjustment features with up to five clockwise turns for setting increases and requires specific installation torques for optimal performance.
