The Sun Hydraulics SQJBKDV (SQJBKDV) is a high-performance kickdown sequence valve designed for hydraulic systems. This valve kicks completely open and stays open once the inlet pressure at port 1 surpasses the preset valve setting, allowing unrestricted flow from port 1 to port 2. The valve's operation relies on pressure conditions, requiring the pressure at port 1 to exceed that at port 2 for it to remain open. To reset, the pressure at port 1 must drop below the set threshold, and flow from port 1 to port 2 must stop with equal or greater pressure at port 2 compared to port 1. This model features a robust design with a main stage orifice protected by a stainless steel screen and incorporates Sun's floating style construction to mitigate internal binding issues due to excessive torque or machining variations. The SQJBKDV is suitable for actuator-side applications where flow cessation is necessary for reset; however, it should not be used in load-holding applications. The valve operates effectively up to a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and handles capacities up to 120 gpm (480 L/min). It offers quick response times of approximately 25 milliseconds and maintains minimal leakage rates under specified conditions. Adjustments can be made through clockwise turns of its adjustment screw, while installation requires specific torque settings for optimal performance. The SQJBKDV model is interchangeable with other three-port sequence cartridges in terms of flow path and cavity size, ensuring versatility within hydraulic systems.
