The Sun Hydraulics SXCACBV (SXCACBV) is a direct-acting sequence valve designed to supply a secondary circuit with flow once the inlet pressure at port 1 surpasses the valve's set threshold. This valve effectively manages pressure at port 1 in relation to the drain port 3, ensuring precise control. Notably, all three-port sequence cartridges from Sun Hydraulics are interchangeable, sharing identical flow paths and cavity dimensions for their respective frame sizes. Despite being a zero pilot flow valve, it's crucial that port 3 remains unblocked to maintain proper pressure reference in the control chamber; blockage can lead to malfunction due to reciprocating seal weepage. The valve setting is directly influenced by the pressure at port 3 on a 1:1 ratio, with an upper limit of 5000 psi (350 bar). This makes it suitable for load-holding applications in various environments. The SXCACBV incorporates corrosion-resistant features, available with external stainless steel or zinc-nickel plated components for enhanced durability in corrosive settings. It utilizes Sun's floating style construction, reducing risks of internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. The valve accommodates a cavity size of T-11A and offers a capacity of up to 15 gpm (60 L/min), with factory settings established at a flow rate of 2 in\u00b3/min (30 cc/min). It operates efficiently under maximum pressures of up to 5000 psi (350 bar) and boasts a typical response time of just 2 ms. The maximum allowable leakage at reseat is limited to 10 drops/min (0.7 cc/min). For adjustments, users can increase settings through clockwise turns, with specific torque requirements provided for both installation and locknut adjustments.

Direct-acting sequence valves will supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at the inlet (port 1) has exceeded the valve setting. The pressure setting of a sequence valve controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the pressure at the drain (port 3).
- All 3 port sequence cartridges are physically and functionally interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size).
- Although this is a zero pilot flow valve, port 3 (drain) must be connected to maintain a pressure reference in the control chamber. If port 3 is blocked, reciprocating seal weepage will cause the valve to malfunction.
- Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 5000 psi (350 bar).
- Suitable for use in load holding applications.
- Corrosion resistant cartridge valves are intended for use in corrosive environments and are identified by the model code suffix /AP for external stainless steel components, or /LH for external zinc-nickel plated components. See the CONFIGURATION section for all options. For further details, please see the Materials of Construction page located under TECH RESOURCES.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
