The Sun Hydraulics SXCAKCV (SXCAKCV) is a direct-acting sequence valve designed to supply a secondary circuit with flow once the inlet port 1 pressure surpasses the valve setting. This model is particularly suitable for load holding applications due to its capability to control the pressure at port 1 relative to the drain port 3. The SXCAKCV features three-port sequence cartridges that are physically and functionally interchangeable, ensuring compatibility across various setups with the same flow path and cavity size. It is crucial that port 3 remains connected as a blocked drain can result in malfunction due to reciprocating seal weepage. The valve setting at port 3 is directly additive at a 1:1 ratio, with a maximum allowable pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The SXCAKCV incorporates Sun's floating style construction, minimizing internal part binding from excessive installation torque or machining variations. With a capacity of 15 gpm (60 L/min) and factory pressure settings established at 2 in/min (30 cc/min), this valve operates effectively under a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). It boasts quick response times typically around 2 ms and has minimal leakage at reseat, limited to 10 drops/min (0.7 cc/min). For installation, it requires a torque of between 30 - 35 lbf ft (41 - 47 Nm) for the valve and between 80 - 90 lbf in (9 - 10 Nm) for the locknut. The model weighs approximately .30 lb (.15 kg), and uses Viton seals identified by cartridge number: 990011006.

Direct-acting sequence valves will supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at the inlet (port 1) has exceeded the valve setting. The pressure setting of a sequence valve controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the pressure at the drain (port 3).
- All 3 port sequence cartridges are physically and functionally interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size).
- Although this is a zero pilot flow valve, port 3 (drain) must be connected to maintain a pressure reference in the control chamber. If port 3 is blocked, reciprocating seal weepage will cause the valve to malfunction.
- Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 5000 psi (350 bar).
- Suitable for use in load holding applications.
- Corrosion resistant cartridge valves are intended for use in corrosive environments and are identified by the model code suffix /AP for external stainless steel components, or /LH for external zinc-nickel plated components. See the CONFIGURATION section for all options. For further details, please see the Materials of Construction page located under TECH RESOURCES.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
