The Sun Hydraulics SXCBLDN (SXCBLDN) is a direct-acting sequence valve designed to supply a secondary circuit with flow once the inlet port pressure exceeds the valve setting. This atmospherically referenced valve is ideal for load-holding applications, especially where a drain connection is not feasible. However, users should note that over time, these valves may experience minor external leakage or allow moisture into the spring chamber, with approximately 0.07 cc of fluid entering every 4000 cycles. The SXCBLDN features Sun's floating style construction to reduce the risk of internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations. This model fits into a T-13A cavity and has a capacity of 15 gpm (60 L/min). It operates at a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) with typical response times around 2 ms. The valve's leakage rate at reseat is minimal, at about 10 drops per minute (0.7 cc/min). Adjustments are made via an internal hex screw, requiring up to 44 clockwise turns to increase settings, and it includes specific torque requirements for installation and locknut adjustment. The SXCBLDN weighs approximately 0.30 lb (0.15 kg) and uses Viton seals in its cartridge design. Its robust construction makes it suitable for demanding hydraulic systems where precise pressure control is essential without compromising on reliability or performance over time.

Atmospherically referenced, direct-acting sequence valves will supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at the inlet (port 1) has exceeded the valve setting. The pressure setting of this sequence valve controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the atmospheric vent.

  • Suitable for use in load holding applications.
  • Atmospherically referenced valves should only be used where it is impossible have a drain connection. Over time, the atmospherically referenced valves may leak externally or allow moisture into the spring chamber.
  • Approximately 1 drop (0,07 cc) of fluid will pass into the vented spring chamber every 4000 cycles.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
