The Sun Hydraulics SXEACWV (SXEACWV) is a direct-acting sequence valve designed to supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at inlet port 1 exceeds the valve setting. This model controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the drain port 3, and all three-port sequence cartridges are interchangeable in terms of flow path and cavity for a given frame size. Despite being a zero pilot flow valve, it requires port 3 to be connected to maintain a pressure reference in the control chamber; blocking port 3 could lead to malfunction due to reciprocating seal weepage. The pressure at port 3 is additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio, which should not exceed 5000 psi (350 bar). It is suitable for load-holding applications and features Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal part binding from excessive installation torque or machining variations. The valve fits into Cavity T-2A, Series 2, with a capacity of up to 30 gpm (120 L/min) and operates under a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). Typical response time is around 2 ms, with maximum leakage at reseat being about 10 drops/minute (0.7 cc/min). The adjustment can be increased by turning clockwise up to four turns, with specific hex sizes for various components: valve hex size is 1-1/8 inches (28.6 mm), adjustment screw internal hex size is 5/32 inches (4 mm), and locknut hex size is 9/16 inches (15 mm). Installation torque for the valve ranges from 45-50 lbf ft (61-68 Nm), while locknut torque ranges from 80-90 lbf in (9-10 Nm). Direct-acting sequence valves will supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at the inlet (port 1) has exceeded the valve setting. The pressure setting of a sequence valve controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the pressure at the drain (port 3).
