The Sun Hydraulics SXEAKBN (SXEAKBN) is a direct-acting sequence valve designed to supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at inlet port 1 surpasses the valve setting. This valve effectively controls the pressure at port 1 in relation to the pressure at drain port 3. It is part of a versatile line of 3-port sequence cartridges that are interchangeable in terms of flow path and cavity for a given frame size. Notably, although this is a zero pilot flow valve, port 3 must be connected to ensure a pressure reference in the control chamber. Blocking port 3 can lead to malfunction due to seal weepage. The pressure at port 3 adds directly to the valve setting on a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 5000 psi (350 bar). The SXEAKBN model is suitable for load-holding applications and includes Sun's floating style construction, which reduces internal part binding risks from excessive installation torque or machining variations. It features a capacity of up to 30 gpm (120 L/min) and can withstand operating pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar). Direct-acting sequence valves will supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at the inlet (port 1) has exceeded the valve setting. The pressure setting of a sequence valve controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the pressure at the drain (port 3).
