The Sun Hydraulics SXEALAV (SXEALAV) is a direct-acting sequence valve designed to provide flow to a secondary circuit once the pressure at inlet port 1 surpasses the valve's preset level. This sequence valve ensures precise control of pressure at port 1 relative to the drain port 3, which must remain connected to maintain a proper pressure reference in the control chamber. The valve's design incorporates Sun's floating style construction, minimizing internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. It is suitable for load-holding applications and features physical and functional interchangeability across all three-port sequence cartridges of the same frame size, ensuring compatibility in various setups. The SXEALAV supports a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and can handle flow capacities up to 30 gpm (120 L/min). Its factory pressure settings are established at a flow rate of 2 in³/min (30 cc/min), with a typical response time of just 2 milliseconds, ensuring rapid reaction to changes in system conditions. The valve exhibits minimal leakage with a maximum rate of 10 drops/min (0.7 cc/min) upon reseat. Installation requires specific torque settings: the valve hex size is 1-1/8 inches (28.6 mm), with an installation torque range of 45-50 lbf·ft (61-68 Nm). The adjustment screw features an internal hex size of 5/32 inches (4 mm), while the locknut has a hex size of 9/16 inches (15 mm) and should be torqued between 80-90 lbf·in (9-10 Nm). The model weighs approximately .60 lb (.30 kg) and uses Viton seals, with seal kit part number 990202006 available for maintenance needs.

Direct-acting sequence valves will supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at the inlet (port 1) has exceeded the valve setting. The pressure setting of a sequence valve controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the pressure at the drain (port 3).
- All 3 port sequence cartridges are physically and functionally interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size).
- Although this is a zero pilot flow valve, port 3 (drain) must be connected to maintain a pressure reference in the control chamber. If port 3 is blocked, reciprocating seal weepage will cause the valve to malfunction.
- Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 5000 psi (350 bar).
- Suitable for use in load holding applications.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
