The Sun Hydraulics SXEALBV (SXEALBV) is a direct-acting sequence valve designed to supply a secondary circuit with flow once the inlet port 1 pressure exceeds the valve setting. This sequence valve is engineered for load-holding applications and features a zero pilot flow design, requiring port 3 to be connected to maintain a pressure reference in the control chamber. Blocking port 3 can lead to malfunction due to reciprocating seal weepage. The pressure at port 3 adds directly to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio, with a maximum allowable pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The SXEALBV utilizes Sun's floating style construction, which minimizes internal binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. It fits into cavity T-2A and has a capacity of 30 gpm (120 L/min), with factory pressure settings established at 2 in/min (30 cc/min). The valve features an impressive response time of approximately 2 ms and allows for maximum leakage at reseat of up to 10 drops/min (0.7 cc/min). Adjustments can be made with four clockwise turns, increasing the setting, using an internal hex size of 5/32 in. Locknut adjustments require a hex size of 9/16 in and should be torqued between 80 - 90 lbf.in (9 -10 Nm). The SXEALBV has a hex size of 1-1/8 in and should be installed with a torque range of 45 -50 lbf.ft (61 -68 Nm). Weighing just .60 lb (.30 kg), this model comes equipped with Viton seals for enhanced durability.
