The Sun Hydraulics SXEALWN (SXEALWN) is a direct-acting sequence valve designed to supply a secondary circuit with flow once the inlet port 1 pressure exceeds the valve setting. This valve controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the drain port 3, making it suitable for load-holding applications. The SXEALWN features a zero pilot flow design, requiring port 3 to be connected to maintain a pressure reference in the control chamber. If blocked, seal weepage can lead to malfunction. It incorporates Sun's floating style construction, minimizing internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations. The valve is interchangeable with other three-port sequence cartridges of similar frame size and flow path. It supports a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and has a capacity of 30 gpm (120 L/min). Factory pressure settings are established at 2 in/min (30 cc/min), with typical response times around 2 ms. Maximum leakage at reseat is limited to 10 drops/min (0.7 cc/min). Adjustments are made via an internal hex screw, with clockwise turns increasing the setting; up to four turns are possible. Installation requires specific torques: valve hex size is 1-1/8 in (28.6 mm) with a torque range of 45-50 lbf ft (61-68 Nm), while the locknut hex size is 9/16 in (15 mm) torqued between 80-90 lbf in (9-10 Nm). The model weighs .60 lb (.30 kg) and uses Viton seal kits for cartridge sealing, ensuring durability and performance under various conditions.

Direct-acting sequence valves will supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at the inlet (port 1) has exceeded the valve setting. The pressure setting of a sequence valve controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the pressure at the drain (port 3).
- All 3 port sequence cartridges are physically and functionally interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size).
- Although this is a zero pilot flow valve, port 3 (drain) must be connected to maintain a pressure reference in the control chamber. If port 3 is blocked, reciprocating seal weepage will cause the valve to malfunction.
- Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 5000 psi (350 bar).
- Suitable for use in load holding applications.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
